THE 2023 RETURN OF THE BOISE VALLEY PEOPLE
The June 8 to 11, 2023 included the announcement the Original Boise Valley People 501-c3 non-profit status was established and a traditional clothing show was done, in addition to the regular events. The OBVP non-profit status had to be achieved prior to the land donation being made to the five tribes including the Burns Paiute and Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs of Oregon, Fort McDermitt Paiute-Shoshone, Shoshone-Bannock and the Shoshone-Paiute. The OBVP can now accept donations towards the cultural center and other related goals.
OBVP Board member Antoinette Cavanaugh said the ROBVP gathering allowed friends and family to gather, visit and rekindle relationships while also engaging in activities.
